Travel expenses for interview

I have applied for a position with a large company in the UK and have reached the 3rd stage of the selection process, which is an assessment centre day at their headquarters in England. Is it normal that the company would cover my travel expenses for this or would I be expected to pay for flights etc myself?
I've never applied to a company outside Ireland so I'm hoping somone can advise me what the normal protocol is, thanks

I would think that you cover the cost yourself. The same as if you were living in Dublin and doing interview anywhere else in the country.

    Hey,

Em tbh, it depends on the company! They all have different policies. I've been to london for a few interviews all paid for, but I have a mate who went to london last week at his own expense! Get on to HR and ask, no other way to know! Also, the sooner the better.. closer to time it is, usually the dearer the flights!

I'd say the company would tell you pretty clearly if they were. When I applied for my job they were very upfront in telling us they would cover our expenses
