Asking prices and haggling

    Hi,

I'm new to car buying experience so wondered in general do most dealers top load the asking price as they know people might haggle ?

Going to look at a car tonight - asking price is €2000 - would anyone have experience on how flexible dealers tend to be on this or are the prices generally set in stone.
It's an old car , good condition by the sound of it , NCT'd etc but would just hope to get it for less !

Any tips or advice would really be appreciated.
    Thanks

Maybe if you're lucky they'll knock 500 cash off.

Depends, was looking at a car from a dealer €1950, he wouldn't budge, bought one off him before too for €900 and he didn't knock anything off. Current car I got off him had a screen price of €2950 and I got it for €2250. Bought the sister's Ka off him years ago, think we got over €500 off that.

Depends on what the car owes him and how quickly he wants it gone :)
