Hi, just wondering if anyone has any information about how reliable and accurate the pricing information is on the site alpharooms.com?
We are trying to organise a holiday to Tenerife as cheap as possible so decided to go down the do it your self route rather than package deals. Found fairly reasonable flights on the ryanair website, so now looking into accomodation...does anyone have any advice on the best sites to book the accomodation on?

Also do you think its best to book these things now, or wait and hope some last minute offers come up? We are going at peak season (has to be due to work constraints unfortunately) if that makes a difference around end of June start of July.

    Thanks for any feedback!

Personally I would wait to book the flights nearer the time as I regularly fly to Tenerife & always find that booking the flights around a month before is usually the best value. I'm actually looking for around that time myself but found the flights to be too expensive at the moment. Around E150-E170 I would be happy with but anything more than that is far too expensive.

I booked cheap flights for May a month ago for about E150 but there are dates on there today for E64 at the end of May so i'd definately advise to wait & keep an eye out for the special offer ads in papers or on their site. Maybe also check the dates you want on an almost daily or every second day starting in a couple of weeks.

You have to become a Ryanair stalker to get the best deals :D

However yesterday Aer Lingus were cheaper for the end of June so maybe keep an eye on both. You'll need a holiday then by the time you sort the flights

Can't help really with the hotels i'm afraid..have you got one in mind? WHat part are you thinking of?

We are planning on going to the south of the island, maybe playa de las americas or around there, going to stick with the well known tourist/party spots anyway...our idea of a holiday being drinking as much as possible while getting sun burned:pac:...yea might wait a bit so cause flights out there are around 220 now and if we can get it cheaper that would be great.

The accomodation will be harder to sort i think as its hard to get a good reading on how much places will cost.

Well if that's what you want then Las Americas is the place for you. There's a pub there called the Dubliner & it's great craic, goes on til all hours, the band play til really late & then a dj starts, great place for meeting people too.

I just had a quick look on trip advisor & there's a place called Marola Portosin, quite highly rated..apartments i think & the self-catering option seems really reasonable..only E144 for the week i checked in June. Self-catering would suit if your going to be too hungover to face breakfast ;) You could just grab a roll for lunch & whatever in the evenings..anyway if the food wasn't great & you'd paid for it you'd only be annoyed.

Anyway i'll PM you if i see the flights coming down in price because as i said we're looking for around that time anyway.

Oh & i had a look at alpharooms & it seems a reputable site to deal with, i don't think i'd hesitate to use it, but just make sure that you're happy with it first!

OP, I used Alpharooms to book accommodation in th Algarve last summmer and I had absolutely no problems. I did read one or two complaints about customer service being dificult to get hold of but I'm sure you'll be fine. The prices always seem very competitive.

Use Alpharooms all the time and never been disappointed. Last booking was to Tenerife and ended up with all inclusive at Ten Bel Alborado. Was excellent value at under €30 per night! The pool area is superb and its about 10 mins from the airport. First impressions are deceiving but the apartment was huge with a large balcony, kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Looks in need of a coat of paint but was perfect for a quick getaway!
