Revenue Taxes - SCAM ALERT

    Hi Guys,

    Just got the following email.

    Dear Applicant,


    Please calcultate now your 2011 Irish taxes
    In order to calculate please click the secure link below:
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/

    Thank you,
    Revenue - Irish Tax & Customs
    service@revenue.ie
    Francis Street
    Limerick

    However the link brings you to http://irish-taxes.com/tax/ which is setup to look like the revenue paye anytime site.

    I suspect this is a scam. BEWARE!

    If they're aware of it, it should just be a simple matter of a take down notice to Yahoo who host it, and it'll be gone pronto, and no longer an issue.

    Obfuscated whois info also. Registration address is a PO box in California. http://www.google.ie/search?q=PO+Box+61359 results throw up all sorts of Russian scams.

    Yeah but the myprivateregistration.com domain is owned by MelbourneIT if you buy their privacy service for an extra $20. Perhaps they'll disable the domain if they're asked...

    I've contacted them there asking them to shut it down. It breaches their ToS (15.6) of their policy for registering TLDs (.com, .net, .org, .biz etc).
