    Mod Firstly no TEXT speak

secondly have a search on the forums, in the first two pages there are a few threads about money transfer.

Personally I nor would most people use visa first for anything as they are over priced, but I have not had experience with them first hand

Definitely would have nothing to do with Visa First, they are outrageously priced...One eg. How much are they trying to charge for a sim card 30yoyos? you can buy one in Australia for $2! (about 1 euro forty cents!)
Even if they "set-up" a bank account for you, you still have to go to the bank with your ID when you arrive to formally activate the account.
Sorry but they use the fact that people don't do much research about Australia before they travel to sell, sell, sell their products, do some research online and if you have any friends in australia ask them what they think. I'm happy to help If I can...
There are lots of different options to transfer your money, some great ideas on these boards

Steer clear of visa first, they are just a complete ripoff.

I'm getting that vibe off this now but I left that part of getting organisied to my better half so thats who he went for. Not to worry though, Not going do the tranfer through them now, think we're just going to cut out the middle man (visafirst) and just transfer from our own accounts to the oz accounts they set up!

Booked with them today , got the visa + insurance + flights for 990 , one way to Melbourne on the 19th August , I told her what I wanted and she was happy to assist.

Transfer using Ozforex.com.au or a similar set up and you'll save yourself a few quid.

A few of my friends used http://www.australianvisaspecialists.com/Australian_visa_migration_Workingholidays.aspx

Shes based in kildare, €195 for a visa, bank account, cv review, advice on insurance, accommendation etc..

Dont see the appeal myself. I'm going to do it DIY.
