Washing machine leak - Toddler ripped off some door seal

My toddler seems to have ripped out a thumb size piece of the rubber that's attached to the door. I only noticed after I put on a wash today and water came pouring out the door where the rubber is missing.

Anyone know what kind of job this would be to fix?
Should I just call a plumber or should I contact Zanussi directly and order a new seal, is it easy enough to take old one off or am I better off getting a professional in this situation?

You say "attached to the door", do you mean the filter door or the main door ?? If your refering to the filter door some machines have a small drain hose located there to enable the last dregs of water to be able to be removed fromthe filter before opening, this hose has a small rubber bung in the end, if toddler has removed the bung its just a matter of pushing it back in.
If this isn't your problem then a few details about what machine you have would help, perhaps with a picture of the piece of rubber.

    Hi Billy
Thanks for your reply. I was pm'd about this last week from a user on this site who advised I need a new seal for the door. I contacted a supplies place outside Tullamore but their system was down so I gave them my details, they haven't gotten back to me yet and I'm abroad at the moment so will wait till I'm home next week to follow up with them. Hopefully I'll be able to remove the old seal and attach the new one myself or get a handy friend to do it.

The seal that's damaged is the one on the glass door of the washing machine where you put the clothes in. If you look at the glass door you can actually see the rubber seal that runs around the rim of it on the inside and you can see there is a thumb size (top of your thumb) piece of rubber that has been ripped out. The washing machine works fine and I've been able to use it but water pours out where the seal has been ripped so I need a big towel on the floor there.

My toddler is only 2.5yrs, God only knows how he managed to rip it out, brute force and determination. He did have a big guilty head on him one time when I walked into the kitchen and he was there on his own but I couldn't see anything wrong and didn't notice it until the following day when I put a wash on.
