I have taken up archery this year and love it. I use a recurve bow with sights and am considering buying my own bow during the summer.

I would love to be able use a bow for hunting and competition.

I am wondering has anyone gone hunting with a recurve bow and if so what poundage should I be looking at getting for effective kills?

Hunting with bows in Ireland is illegal, and has a long history on this forum of being well off-topic (see rule 8 in the charter).
