How far do you live from your next town?

Just curious if anyone country people's house is more remote than my home house. It's 12 miles from my next town. There are some some villages 5 miles away but town is 12 miles. That's a lot isn't it?

I left home at 17 but I was, and sometimes still am when I'm home, slagged about living in the 'arsehole of nowhere'. It's in the country with lots of fields and not a lot of houses.

    Do I hold the record?

Next town? What manner of bumpkinism is this? I live in a city. I have running water and a toilet and stuff. Fye on your country aspirations.

I live in London. I guess the closest bestest town is Brighton, an hour away on the train.

I do know that I'm never more than a few metres from other Irish. They're everywhere these days.

Back home its 12 miles. Pain in the hole if you want a takeaway and your hungover.

A town is a human settlement larger than a village but smaller than a city

I was going to make a generic smart remark but the thought struck me that the OP might be from Borris On Ossory and that life must have been hard enough as it was.

Up until last year when I moved to Waterford city, I lived 10 miles from my nearest town. Sucked since the only one in my family that drove was my father so if he wasn't home we were just stuck there.
