I am looking to purchase a shower unit, (kit and Valve) set from a website in France as it is a fraction of the price it is here in Ireland.

A quick question before i buy it, Are the valve sizes the same as in Ireland for fitting the shower?

Any help would be good :)

The sizes in france and europe is generally metric as apposed to imperial in ireland.

Also generally speaking the type of system in france is higher pressure than ireland. However there is exceptions.

With complete respect to you. Shower valves are always cheaper abroad and people feel they are ripped off here. That is not the case. Our systems require lower pressure so valves have to be specially made.

However of you live in an apartment it may be pumped and you may be ok

    Hi Joey,

Thanks for the feedback and i do understand that valves have to be specially made etc... but i am not a fool and the extreme difference in the price in Ireland as oppose to other countries is a joke.
But the shower i wish to purchase is €1400 here and only €350 in France or $420 in the USA.

I dont live in an apartment i am currently refurbishing a house, there is a pressurised system. My plumber thinks it will be ok, i just wanted a second oppinion as i could find anything on google...

No one is suggesting your a fool. I have been lucky to work at both ends of the spectrum and i know why our prices are high in certain plumbing products.

If you have a pressurised system most showers will be fine. If your plumber is happy then i would be happy. s/he will just have a small bit of converting to do.

    Enjoy
