Hmm...is it the interior? The front seat has the cream leather and black plastic. It looks odd to me. Im probably wrong though

Been offered a 12 months warranty? Thats abit risky on a 1.8 k series.

Rivers are specifically excluded from toyota dealer cover since the 90s?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

It was sittign unregistered till 06 despite going out of production in 05? (fairly common occurance though)

I'm pretty sure toyota dealer cover doesn't cover uk imports either.

Yep, I see what's wrong - its a rover 75, therefore, just wrong.

There were a few 75's registered in 06 and even 07.

The interior is all wrong, the seats and steering wheel are from a different car.

The colours do not match, if it had a grey steering wheel and black leather seats then it would match.

Also, the connoisseur model should have chrome wing mirrors.

    It's overpriced too !

Don't know many people who would be mad enough to buy a 1.8k

Rear door card seems to have different colour insert to the front too

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but possibly the seats are a different shade to the door cards and steering wheel?

The odometre is in miles as well. If it was originally an Irish destined car then it should've been in km's by '05.

Centre column and armrest seem off too.

It's also giving the temp in fahrenheit for some reason.

There he is, Mr boards.ie/motors himself. An opinion on everything, I pity your family.

I did indeed own one back in the day, what a heap of sh*te.

Wouldn't mind picking up a diesel one now as a run around.

The leather seats are always electric.

You can get 08 and 09 regs, SMC were selling them new.

    Front bumper looks aftermarket.

    2 grand over priced too.

Not many HG issues with the revamped petrol. But given a choice go with a diesel all day.
I would love to get an estate and convert it to a pickup with an electric engine, no idea if i ever will.

I understand people Bad mouthing the K series engine. Had quite a few Rovers and the HG has gone on 2. I thing is the R75 is one hel of a car, for the price. I have had two. Both Diesel and man they are the best cars I have ever had.
I would recommend anyone to get a R75 Diesel, Brill car.:D

Seats are R75 sandstone beige seats, however the base is dark where usually it is light.

Steering wheel is standard steering wheel.

Chrome mirrors were standard on Conn Se spec, not Conn

Armrest, along with seat base is from a darker interior.

    Front bumper is standard.

You could order sandstone with the darker base and inserts though, nothing odd going on here.

If you ordered a 75 with beige leather interior the door cards would match, so would the dash and centre console. Also, all 75's with leather seats were electric.

You're confused with pre facelift, spec levels changed(for the worse) with the facelift, needed to get Conn SE spec to get leather and electric.
Even pre facelift you could get non electric leather in basic versions as an option.

As for door cards and dash, you could get any combination you wanted :)
Guy on the owners club has black oak dash with dark alcantara inserts with monogram cream leather seats

Being a 2006, I wouldn't be massively surprised if the leather was hoofed into the car to use it up and make it easier to sell from the factory, but would need the vin to check.

As Tragedy has pointed out there is nothing wrong with this 75 apart from the fact it is a victim of Rovers 'Project Drive' scheme where by all corners were cut in the spec levels to make it as cheap as possible to manufacture.

Spec levels became confused towards the end with all the niceties removed such as the 5 in a row buttons on the center console, torpedo badges, nicer quality finishes on materials used and many other things not mentioned.

I remember KCGARAGES up the road had an 06 model hanging on for a while and also a 45 saloon. In fact there is a 2008 one on carzone at the minute for sale. The only thing wrong with it before you ask is the crappy basic spec

ACE for someone who was heavily involved in the 75 owners club previously you show very little product knowledge for what you were representing.
