I'd say it should be handy out. Aldi have a nice selection of meats, fruits and veggies so there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get healthier and lose weight shopping exclusively there.:)

I do most of my shopping in aldi and I find it brilliant for cheaper healthy food. They do loads of diff types of nuts, the milled linseed - in sachets on the shelf over the breakfast cereal have loads of good fat in it, I sprinkle it over my Aldi weetabix. The low fat natural yoghurt is lovely with their frozen fruit.

The ham fillet is lovely boiled and put in sambos or have it with their brown rice with peas or other veg.

Ha I could write a book on the good food in Aldi :D:D

Oh and the €5 re:Dd wine is lovely for a treat too.....

you can get pretty much the same food in Aldi/Lidl as in any other supermarket. It's more than likely not going to be name brand, and cheaper. I shop there a good bit, have a great selection of fruit and veg and also they have good quality meat there that's lower than what you'd pay in Dunnes/Superquinn!

easy - and their chocolate is excellent also - 70% with almonds - yumm.

On a side point it might be good to post up your goals and current diet as alarm bells go off in my head when i hear fat free ANYTHING.

I think the food in Aldi is often better than other shops as the ingredients list is often shorter and simpler. This generally makes for better (and healthier) food.

For breakfasts the shredded wheat or mini shredded wheats or the oats (not the ones in a box) are good. (ONE ingredient!)

You can get skinless white fish in bags from the freezer that can easily be microwaved or steamed in minutes.

Eggs are good (although I did find the 10 packs a bit poor.) the 6 packs are excellant.

Cheap nuts for essential fats. almonds, walnuts etc.

Pork fillets, chicken breasts, lean mince etc....

A great selection of fruit and veg.

    can't go wrong really.

The free range 12 pack are good, about a euro cheaper than the same thing in dunnes afaik. Aldi actually have more Irish products than the other supermarkets which is nice.

After reading loads of posts from people about cottage cheese I went out and bought some as I had never tasted it. It's actually ok. But do you just eat it on its own or with something?

The fruit cereal bar and smoothie wouldn't be healthy breakfast options, particularly if you're trying to lose weight. They are both simple carbohydrates/sugars and probably have more ingredients than you realise. Much better having some combination of porridge and eggs in my opinion. Your lunch and dinner look very good though, keep it up!

I get my cottage cheese from Lidl. I wasn't mad about it at the start, but given it's nutritional benefits I persisted with it. It's strange but the taste grew on me and I now love it! I've tried eating it with oatcakes, ryvita, carrot sticks, peppers, mixing it into jelly, and using it as an ingredient in my own home made smoothies, so there's some ideas for you. But now I just eat it on it's own.
