It seems that it's getting more and more popular to use "twenty eleven" rather than "two thousand and eleven", so I'm pretty sure "Twenty xxx" is going to last the rest of the century.

Which makes me think. Will we start referring back to the years 2001-2009 as "twenty oh one" like we do for 1901? Does anyone already do that?

I thought everyone agreed on "The 21st century plus one" ....rinse and repeat for the following years.

Well it's equally confusing deciding what to say for 1900-1910. I hope we keep up the 'twenty xxx' format. Otherwise in a few years children will be learning about the one thousand nine hundred and sixteen rising while dancing like it's one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine

    I don't understand the question.

Is this some sort of puzzle?

two thousand and one has a grand ring about it so i don't see why we'd need to start calling it twenty oh one tbh...

now 1001AD that's a harder one to give a good sounding name... ten oh one doesn't have a great ring... in the year one (a) thousand and one sounds a bit off too...

    I always though this song
When the moon is in the seventh house
    and jupiter aligns with mars
The peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars

this is the dawning of the age of aquarius
    the age of aquarius

    aquarius
    aquarius

    harmony and understanding
    sympathy and trust abounding
    no more falsehoods or derisions
    golden living dreams of visions
    mystic crystals revelations
    and the minds true liberation

    aquarius
    aquarius

when the moon is in the seventh house
    and jupiter aligns with mars
then peace will guide the planets
and love will steer the stars

this is the dawning of the age of aquarius
    the age of aquarius

    was part of this song
    In the year 2525
    If man is still alive
    If woman can survive
    They may find
    In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today

    In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
    Nobody's gonna look at you

    In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you

    In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube' Whoooa

    In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day

    In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head then
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again

    In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

    Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
    For what he never knew
    Now man's reign is through
    But through eternal night
    The twinkling of starlight
    So very far away
    Maybe it's only yesterday

I have lived far too long but at least I didn't mix them up with this song.
One day when I came home at lunchtime,
    I heard a funny noise.
Went out to the back yard to find out if it was,
    One of those rowdy boys.
Stood there with my neighbor called Peter,
    And a Flux Capacitor.

He told me he built a time machine.
Like one in a film I've seen,
    Yeah yeah... he said...

I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived under water.
And your great great great grand daughter,
Is doing fine (is doing fine).

I don't know why I felt the need to do this. :(

I like "At the beginning of the twenty first century...". Makes it sound more futuristic. Even though it already happened.
