I'm staying in Belfast city centre on business on a regular basis.
Could anybody suggest a good 50-60km spin I could do in the evenings?

I contacted Phoenix CC, but they spin out in the mornings.

    Thanks in advance.

Check the Phoenix club message board, there are usually a few guys who do midweek evening runs, certainly they were last year - hill training rides. As the evenings get longer they are likely to restart I would think.

What part of Belfast are you staying? Pheonix do Club Races too on a Tuesday night and so that could be good craic. They also organise spins "on the fly" depending who's interested.

Whatever you do, you should definitely climb to the transmitter mast on top of Black Mountain. On a clear day there is stunning views of Belfast City.

This^^^ used to do a regular run up the barnfield and out by dundrod racecourse and round up to the mast. You could also just head straight up from the city.

I lived in Belfast for a couple of years until last year and was a member of Phoenix.

Let us know where your staying and I will try and map out a few routes as Ive been meaning to for a while on mapmyride anyway, plenty of country roads south of the city where I used to train if I can rem them now. I used to try take in a lot of hills so be warned!!

I used to also go to the Tues night club races, theres a couple of groups, great craic and good bunch of lads. Get onto their boards and start posting up.

    Thanks Guys,

Went for a 2 hour spin last night, took a while to clear the city but ended up going out beyond Moira and back.

    Beautiful evening up here.

I will keep an eye on the Phoenix CC message board.

Belfast to Bangor and return is about 40/50km spin afaik. Relatively flat too
