I need to replace all 4 shocks on a corolla. ( its long over due )

I've been doing oil, plugs filters and brakes with the aid of a haynes manual until now.

I'm wondering what the cost would be it I went to advanced pitstop or maybe a garage to get this job done. I can't seem to get a price off anyone.

I have priced the parts on micksgarage.ie but I don't really have the setup/experience to start doing this job myself.

Micksgarage from my experience are always on the expensive side for parts. Might be cheaper to get parts from your local motor factors. Blue Print are decent quality suppliers for Japanese vehicles.

Haven't a clue regards what it would cost. That version corolla is fairly simple haynes manual should be able to tell you all you need to know. Few spanners, axel stands and spring compressor is the only thing you possibly might not have. I used have one when i was in college they are bulletproof!

Did all 4 on my corolla (94) over the last while with just the haynes and some tools.(never did anything even remotely car related before that).
ended up spending a bit on tools but if you do the same you can service everything on a corolla with a relatively few tools.
It took me a day to do the back but only a half day to do the front as i knew what i was at then.
Pm if ya want to know what you need to do it yourself or any questions.

I got shocks and protection kit for it from here: http://www.monroeshop.co.uk/
Shocks (original) were 200 for all 4 and 45 for 2 protection kits(front and back)
Them ones are fine, obviously not the best but for our old yokes i think they do the trick! Car is definitely way way way better than the ones that were on it. What i noticed when doing the front shocks was that the springs were shot too as were the ball joints and tie rod ends. All of which were cheap to get from buypartsby.co.uk(excellant service) and made a huge differance to sterring and handling.
    Hope that helps!
Edit: I got lots of advice from E39Msport before i started doing any of the above so cheers to him for that.
