In my opinion Larsen traps should be available to every willing member in a gunclub...however they are expensive to buy.
However there’s not much in them, after you get the springs one only hast to buy the mesh and ties.
My question is how much is this mesh and has anyone here bought it to make larsens themselves

An 8 foot by 4 foot sheet of 2"x2" cost €22 last time I bought them, can't say what gauge it was though.

It should be cheaper to buy from steel companies rather than general merchants/co-ops.

Made a couple of them. Problems are:
    • Weight
    • Wood can split at the worst time during assembly
    • Chicken wire is useless, cats, magpies, greycrows will all get through it eventually.

    But the guide is sound.

As a Club you should be able to purchase a few. Vermin control is as important as pheasant rearing. Does your club charge membership? (Not insurance). NARGC clubs can normally get anything up to 50% of the cost price refunded by the reginal body.

We have 8 traps available to members and I'd say only 5 have every seen them as most have no interest in them.
