I was wondering if anyone has any bright ideas as to how I could get a jammed cd out of my saab 93 without doing any internal damage. I plays fine from time to time but when I press the eject button it just clicks and nothing happens. Its a burnt Cd so possibly this has caused the problem. Can anyone help with tips / tricks ??

Disconnect the battery and when you re connect it, the radio may eject the cd. Worked for me before

Many thanks. I will give this a try. So far I have removed the radio fuse and then put it back. This did not work but maybe as you say disconnecting the car battery might work.

I take it you have the stock Saab CD player for one disc?
This is a known issue and what Slidey said may work, disconnect for 5-10 mins and it may cycle the CD when it starts up again.
Some guy used a flat stick with sticky tape on it to pull the CD out, I would not recommend this as anything can happen when you poke into stereos. Another had to pull CD changer out and open it up.
Try the battery thing first. Btw, Saab stock radios doesn't have a code, they are "married" to the car instead.

Yes its just for one disk. I will try this and let you know how I get on. BTW just as a matter of interest is disconnecting the car battery the same as removing the car radio fuse. Would they both achieve the same results or am I just better disconnecting the battery ?

There is also a constant live feed to the radio that may not get interrupted when you remove the fuse

Chaps, I have tried disconnecting the battery and this did not work for me. I think my only option will be to pull out the whole CD player. Is this a big job ? Can't seem to find much advice on the net on this topic ? Any help would be gratefully received. Its not that I don't want to bring it to the garage but I prefer learning and fixing these things myself.

This is the one you have yeah?

You see the little holes on the sides, 2 each side? You need a tool that pushes in there (to release clips) to be able to get unit out. There are tools for sale (DIN tools) but you can make your own too. See if you have thick wire coat hanger and cut it appropriately.

My CD unit is slightly different but I presume the same situation applies. Each side of my CD player I just have one hole. Its a SAAB 93 SEDAN 2002. I guess I will just try and source one of these tools. Thanks for your help.
