Electric mirror assembly

    Hi folks,

I have a 02 Agila and the motor for the electric mirror has gone weird on the passanger mirror.
The Mirror unit is a whole unit, Ie no seperate mould for front and back of it, and I don't know how to take it appart without breaking it.

The Mirror has stopped being adjustable up and down, but you can still hear the motor going. It still adjusts side to side. I can move it up and down by hand but it doesn't stay in place and falls down facing the road.
Does anyone know how to fix this and/or open the mirror unit so I can see to fix it?

I've looked for a haynes manual but they don't make one for the agila. I even looked for one for a wagon r but they don't make them either.
Does anyone know of a similar manual I could get?

Can anyone help? This is driving me mad.

I took the mirror off last night to see if I could get it open but no joy.

Ok so I've been to every breakers yard I can find in the area ona only 1 agila was found.

And it had exactly the same problem with the mirror.

If I could find out how to open it without breaking the plactic I'll try and fix it myself. I don't mind if I break the glass, I can get it cheap enough.

I did ask in the dealership but they were going to charge me 60 for the glass and 80 for the motor before they even started. Its not worth 140, since I can get the glass for about 15 or 20.
