Do you have to purchase the car before applying for the grant or after? If its after what do you do when applying....give them a quote? And what if you buy a car privately and not from a garage....how are you fixed for a receipt then?

they have to tell you the criterion. So make a complaint

List of complaints officers make complaint in writing - keep copies

No joy complain to ombudsman who will look at issue objectively. copies will help you make your case

If you have a disability you may be able to argue they are in breach of Equality Legislation. Ask the Equality Authority if they can help

UPDATE: To answer my own question.....you have to purchase the car first and has to be bought from a garage.
