used redsn0w on my iphone 4, went fine but getting random screen flashes of the black background white apple install with a process bar overlaying my screen. On 4.3.1.

no, seems to be random, it nay be just when im in cydia, i havent seen it elsewhere yet. hasnt come up again since i finished my updates etc.

Got it working. If you have windows 7 then run redsn0w in xp compatibility mode if it doesn't work at first

Yep, no unlock available yet, shouldn't be long though.

I'm also an android user so this was all new. ATM just getting apps for free seems to be the major change. It's more android-ish, but still not as free-reign

I'm getting really low signal since updating to 4.3.1, its on no service here at the moment but was only on 1 bar. Its a 3GS and I used pwnage tool on mac last night.

My signal was fine last night before hand and it was already jail broken, any ideas ?

Any ideas what this means ?

No it wont affect upgrading in any way.

IF you want to remove the jailbreak you can just restore your i-device in itunes and this will install the stock IOS again (no jailbreak).


When the next version of IOS comes out to retain your jailbreak and any useful cydia apps (sbsettings for me) you will have to wait for the iphone dev teams go ahead before upgrading in itunes.

To me jailbreaking only provides advantages and no real negatives!

Here is the main source of info for jailbreaking.

Also the user base there can be helpful if you encounter any issues.

No ideas at all, perhaps try a restore in itunes followed by another jailbreak.

Its the simplest solution to what could be many different problems

I just did my JB of my Iphone 4 with 4.3.1 and was able to install Sbsettings and winterboard, I was installing Airpline Sbsetting toggle and SBsettings install with it. For winterboard I installed it manually. Maybe try again, did other Apps install ok from Cydia?

Hi guys, I'm picking up a new ip4 next week from vodafone. I've been told it will come with 4.2 pre loaded. For me to jailbreak, should I update to 4.3.1 myself on iTunes and then run the jb or does the jb tool automatically update to 4.3.1? Thanks for any help.
