    Hey there,

Im thinking of heading inter railing for a month in May or June. Im going to go on my own and start off in eastern europe as i am already here in Finland living here so its ideal to get started from here. Just wondering from anyone who has experienced:

What do you think about going on your own? Is it good craic and get to meet people along the way? Have you met many people when you were on it that were doing it on their tobler?

Are the plans that the inter railing websites would give worth going by?

Are there any hidden costs along the way that I discover? ie is there lots of costs in term of getting to the actual destinations from the train station etc.

Are the night trains a good option in some cases to get ahead of things?

    Any few words all helps!

You posted in Newbies and FAQ, so I moved it to an appropriate forum instead.

What do you think about going on your own? For a lot of people going on your own is the best way to travel, you decide the route, you decide the time to stay and the time to leave, its total freedom basically.
Is it good craic and get to meet people along the way? I went with one other person and the people we met along the way where nearly all travelling independently Have you met many people when you were on it that were doing it on their tobler? Yes plenty.

Are the plans that the inter railing websites would give worth going by?unsure what you mean by this, check the train timetables and generally make up your own route, just once it is within the countries that allow for interrailing.

Are there any hidden costs along the way that I discover? ie is there lots of costs in term of getting to the actual destinations from the train station etc.No never had any additional costs on my trip, unless you decide to buy a bed on the trains.

Are the night trains a good option in some cases to get ahead of things? Saves a day of travel and from my experience its well worth it.

Any few words all helps! Research your countries, research your route, train doesnt always have to be your only mode of transport, be safe and be smart when your by yourself, travel light, learn a few words in each language, make friends in the hostels and on the trains, oh and enjoy yourself!
