stained tooth

    I suddenly noticed that one of my front bottom teeth is really brown....it had been a little bit for a long time but just all of a sudden its gotten very discoloured. I had a bowl of stewed apple yesterday and looked in the mirror for some reason and thought it was a bit of apple skin stuck to it but it wasn't and I was horrified. I don't know if I just haven't noticed it for a while as I don't always look in the mirror when brushing my teeth. But does anyone know... is it possible for this to happen suddenly or does anyone have any ideas on the causes and cure for this?

    Do you smoke by any chance? That can discolour a tooth if its in the path of the inhaled smoke

    No I don't smoke... Thanks for the reply though.
    Its all ok though I brushed my teeth with bread soda a couple of times and its much better than it was!! So it must have been something that I ate that stained it. Toothpaste didn't do anything but I googled and there were so many people suggesting bread soda to clean stained teeth that I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so relieved as I was afraid it was a dead tooth.

    Teeth probably do need a good cleaning though!
