You can't play films, so I want to see DS3 and feck the films...
Ask the same question on the films forum.
Also, event horizon pre-empted Dead Space... Dead Space did not copy event horizon...:p

ok im not going to ask in the film forum because I wanted the opinion of gamers, not to be confrontational but why did you feel the need to tell me that event horizon preempted dead space ? I already know event horizon came out in 1997 and the first dead space video game came out in 2008 its pure obvious that a lot has been copied from that film.

Hardly needs this after 2 games, a spinoff game and two animated movies? its not exactly a failing franchise. Wouldnt mind seeing a movie if it was done right and didnt go the Doom route of cheap scares and crappy effects. Production design would be everything on a DS movie, cheapness would ruin it.

im in total agreement with you I would love to see a third game but I did find that dead space 2 was just a continuation of ds and what I mean by that is there was nothing different or out of the ordinary you knew exactly what was going to happen next there was no real element of surprise so unless they really push the boundaries with the third one I would say the third will be the last.

also totally agree about the film if they did make it they would have to invest some serious cash, time and thought into it and not feck up the franchise like they did with my fave game of all time resident evil, that last film what a pile of ****e and same goes for re 5

I dunno about a movie of DS... Having played both games I think a movie would struggle to capture the atmosphere of them. I think that a big budget studio could pull off the big set pieces and action sequences well if they tried, but for the more tense parts I just don't think it would capture the feeling.
Plus I can imagine the dialogue being terrible.

For me DS was all about taking my time and enjoying the atmosphere and visuals of the environment, looking out the windows at the planets and such, and I don't think a movie could capture the feeling

Game movie conversions are just a bad idea

not always I did enjoy the first resident evil film although as stated above they did not manage to capture the feeling you get from playing the game in the film but id say that would be the same for any game film

I hope they don't do a movie. It will be ****. Game to film adaptations just don't work.

they could though, movie studios just need to stop trying to make them only to appeal to horny 12 year olds and realise adults would pay to see a good adaptation, Silent Hill came close and even thats only average. If stuff like Bioshock or Uncharted could be done right they could be fantastic. Half Life could be amazing (Damian Lewis IS Freeman) but then you'd have Freeman talk and that would ruin it :pac:

I think you hit the nail on the head there it would make an excellent film but it needs to be done right in other words a twelve year old should not be able to watch it with out being traumatized lol but seriously they will prob feck it up like they did with the last resident evil they threw together, that film was just about who was the best poser
