i went out with my friend last week,
    and met that guy,
i had a crush on him,
however, i'm not sure if he has a girlfriend,
so i did nothing, even seldom talked with him that day.

when i went back, i just cannot forgot him,
    so i asked my friend,
she said he didn't have a girlfriend.

i want to chase after him, but i don't know how.
we talked little that day, it was a pity.
after that, we just had a little chat on facebook.
    we live in different cities,
i think it's weird to ask him out since we are not familiar with each other, moreover, there is no good excuse.

does anyone have good advices? TIA.

Just tell him how you feel.

Seeing as you live in different cities, but chat on Facebook, try something like

"Hey, if you're ever around here again, I'd love to get a drink if you're up for it"

It's not to forward, and it's not to discreet.
It shows you'd be interested in going for a drink and seeing him again, but shows a level of empathy by saying "If you're" aswell.
