Have any of ye ever got a random text from unknown numbers before? I just received some random text from someone along the lines "Blank you were wonderful last night. I'm still tired. Blank"

Ask them to send a sexy photo.

You should of course reply to say "Yes, yes I was. I, however, am not tired and could go again. Right now in fact. See you in 5".

    What could possibly go wrong?

Was in Thailand many years ago and had Thai sim card in my phone. Sent a text to a mate back home using his number in my contacts list - forgot to add the 00353 prefix. Got a series of vicious texts over the next few days from some Thai guy threatening to hunt me down and have me shot. He obviously misinterpreted my original message telling my friend that visiting Thailand was something he really should do before he died.

Got a series of texts last year from someone i didn't know. The first was something like "Blessed are those who wait good things come." Was a little weirded out by that, but then had a missed call from them that night at about 3 in the morning. Luckily, I was in a busy nightclub so didn't notice, but would have freaked out if I was on my own tucked up in my leaba. Had about three or four texts then, but can't remember them. Then about a week later, "Morning sweetheart, are you awake?" Got my friend to ring their voicemail and found out it was some guy from Athlone (a message left on the voicemail gave us that info.). Have never met anyone from Athlone, nor have I ever been there other than just passing through. Weirdly enough the messages stopped after that. I think they just pick random numbers and text them hoping they are going to get an answer for a bit of a laugh.

In the last place I lived in I used to get all sorts of nutters ringing the landline. One of them used to just repeatedly call up at all hours demanding to know who I was thought about making a nuisance calls complaint to the cops but I know from previous experience what a waste of time that is so I got a phone that can be set not to ring on withheld numbers. They usually hang up when they get voicemail.

Mate got one recently that said
Sorry about it last night I promise I will make it up to you tonight Ill even wear my uniform
    :confused::confused:

He was going to reply out of curiosity until I pointed out that its probably a wrong number and the sender probably lives on the UK mainland.

You gave me no credit for that offer! You fancy giving me one in the cack?

You don't have to take one back

    You want smuttier?"

    I'd say go for it.

I got a random one from someone called Mike the other day too. Really weird. Wanted to know who he was texting because he had lost names from his phone.

Well it detected Slovak. Just tried it in Polish there and it didn't recognise anything. However, I'd say Kevin Duffy above has hit the nail on the head.:p Makes sense now!

Yes, that is indeed a random text from an unknown person

Any luck getting the credit back, or is it tough shít?

    I got one that said:

"Drž sa ďalej od toho írsky fóra, "after hours". je plný podivných ľudí, kurva".

    Wonder what they meant.

AFAIK, you get a text saying you that topped up on pay as you go phones.

A person that I am statistically highly unlikely to know may have got the credit if they had a pay as you go phone and as such may have received a random text to say same.

I didn't try to rectify the situation as I'm not a pauper and just sent more credit to my wife.

I trust this elucidates the matter a little more?

I'm going to look at some other threads mow and then I may make something to eat and go out for a beer.

You have just went through the bother of picking up your phone and opening this text and seeing my name got excited just to receive a stupid text like this.

Got that a while back off some random number, I was and still am devastated about it. Have kept in in my phone in the hope that someday they text me back again. :(

Nah, definitly not Polish. The letter 'v' isn't in the Polish alphabet, the letter 'w' in Polish sounds like how we pronounce a 'v' though. Looks Slovak alright (albeit without any accent symbols above letters, which is probably why translation software is struggling to understand it), but my Slovak is far too basic to work out fit it says.
