The NAMA legislation makes it illegal for anyone to lobby NAMA yet it is not illegal for NAMA to lobby others. It is normal for any individual or organisation that expects to be affected by new legislation to make its view known to government. This is the process by which legislation is written. The more openly this is done, the better.

I believe that upward-only rent reviews are now forbidden in new lease contracts, however existing contracts are not affected as to do so would be to interfere in an existing contract and could be unconstitutional. Nobody really expects that existing rental contracts will be ordered by the government (despite their election promises) and I guess NAMA is pointing out the financial implication for the state should they manage retrosopectively alter commercial leases.

What does NAMA own? How much did we pay for it?
There is no transparency in NAMA. We know absolately nothing of what is planned for all, the property owned by NAMA.
Sell off assets as quick as possible? Looks like they are holding onto everything keeping prices from hitting the floor.
We had an election last month and no one in the media even brought up what to do with the assets.
Personally I think, they should sell everything off asap let the market hit the bottom and we can start to rebuild the economy from there.
