Dish could be off with the strong winds we're getting the last few days.
Is it a Sky type dish or one of the Lidi/Aldi/B&Q type??

It's been windy lately, so maybe the dish moved slightly.

its the sky type dish. wouldnt have thought the wind would have moved it. its been there for the last 3 or 4 years and no probs until now but will have someone go up on the roof over the weekend and have a look. thanks

Given the windy weather my money would be on the dish having moved slightly.

Other possibilities are that the LNB has failed or that the set top box is the problem or that somebody has messed about with the cable connections at the back of the box or TV (such an an over enthusiatic hooverer !)

    1. Check that everything at the back of box and tv is connected up OK.

    2. Can you borrow a box from anyone to try it in your house or bring your box to someone else who has a dish? That would help rule out the box as the source of the problem.

    3. If your box is Ok then the dish may need realignment. If the dish is accessible and you have access to a ladder (and some experience of working on a ladder), it may be something you could tackle yourself. The dish may have only moved a fraction of an inch, so potentially this could all be sorted out in five minutes.

If the dish looks like it is the problem and you want to have a go at realigning it, come back here first for more advice.
