Strange how this is the subject of an April fool joke after it actually happened with Lansdowne Road and no-one batted an eyelid.

This bridge sounds like it should be destroyed

"Page no longer exists" - looks like someone got them!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Whatever happened to them wanting to rename Dublin Airport?

They wanted to name it after someone. It was a retarded idea (and it still is), but it seemed like it was definitely gonna happen, and then the story just kinda fizzled out..?

    Hmmmm??

    Meh.

April Fools jokes remind me of office jokers with spinning bowties.

People who get all bent out of shape about them remind me of this guy.

Lansdowne rd is still there. I walked down it on the way to the aviva stadium last week?

Clicks on link. Realises that this is at the end of the address when I can't click on any hotlink within the page ("html.yolasite.com"). Facepalms.

    Newbs. ;)

Gotta love the part where the apostrophe stays in the proposed 'new name' :D

Landsdowne Road wasn't named after money though...

Claiming Penneys is renaming itself 'Cents' is a bit of a giveaway, non?

Happy to say it died out.

I'm not adverse to the idea of naming the airport after someone, but the list of candidates they were looking at was ridiculous. "Welcome to Dublin's Cu Chulainn International" (Complete with a logo involving a lad hacking away at the enemy with a broadsword) is a hell of a lot more impressive than "Welcome to Dublin's John Sullivan International." I could go with the former.

There is precedent. I landed at "Manas" airport in Kyrgyzstan.

    NTM
