Did a search but couldnt find anything...soo....

    Did she?

Her website is looking distinctly independant, no mention of labour www.ivanabacik.com

Also on the Labour Senate candidates page it lists the labour candidates and then states states
In addition to our candidates, we are also asking people to support Ivana Bacik on the Trinity Panel and James Doorley and Donncha O'Connell on the NUI panel
    http://www.labour.ie/blog/2011/03/22/labour-candidates-for-seanad-elections/

Did something happen that caused her to fly solo?

No, the university senators just don't run as party representatives in that the party do not put the candidate forward; they are 'their own man', at least in nominal terms. In theory the same is supposed to apply to other Seanad candidates as elected by the Dail and the county councils, but invariably that is more of a party affair.
