Can anyone tell me what's the situation in their county in relation to county players being allowed play for their club.
Its just that in club we have 3 county players and we have a match coming up which is a must win for both teams to progress to the quarter finals but have just been informed that the county team manager wont allow his players play with their clubs so we will be down defo 2 of our main players,3 if the other lads head it right.
Would this be the case in other counties or is it just here.
Also the county team are in the league final in 3 to 4 weeks and the club match is in 2 weeks

Varies from county to county, but from my experience no county management will refuse to release players to their clubs for a championship match, but league etc are different, in Tipp clubs are expected to play their county league games without their county players but as soon as the championship starts they will be all available. the ultimate decision anyway would fall on the county board after all a cmanager is in effect only an employee of the county board.

I read somewhere today that their is a major row in Wexford over dual U-21 players and the hurling management are incensed over not having access to upto 8 players, hardly ideal when they are due to play KK in the opening round, reading between the lines it seems the county board have written that off as a loss and are giving preference to the football!
