    Hi,

Wondering if anyone has used any of the HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer's on the UPC's routers?

Thinking of getting one and a lot of the Amazon reviews are talking about issues connecting to the BT Home Hubs. Now I know that the UPC router is no way related to the BT Home Hub but still interested in finding out if anyone used the printer, was there issues etc.

The one I am looking at is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/CN245B-Photosmart-Wireless-All-Printer/dp/B003OG3PPE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Feel free to recommend another one :)

    Thanks,

    B

I have one and the only issue running it in wireless mode is that the HP only allows you to connect to a secured router if you are using WEP security, which isn't the most secure.

I had to change my security from WPA2 to WEP to get it to work. I contacted HP who didn't want to know.

I am using the older UPC installation which has a seperate cable modem and wireless router.

I have an HP 6510 All-in-one. It works fine on UPC cable as a wireless printer, very easy to set up. BUT the Internet-based ePrint feature does not work because you can't set up a printer-to-Internet connection (direct or proxy) over UPC. This eans that although the printer can worl wirelessly it can't find the Internet server and generate an e-mail address, which is essential for ePrint. A proxy would work, but UPC doesn't offer one.
Also, note that if you are buying the printer (like me) partly because it's compatible with Mac Airprint, allowing direct print from iPad, this will only work if the printer and iPad are on the same wifi network -- so if like me you have the printer and UPC modem upstairs and a Homeplugs link with downstairs to allow use of iPads/laptops all over the house, Airprint won't work downstairs. Laptops will print wirelessly though.
