Map my email address to a key????

I know you can rearrange the keys in the registry or using programmes but has anyone heard of a way to set a key to a series of characters, in this case my email address.

Would be really handy esp if it was done via registry.

That's just pure and utter laziness. :eek:

There's a clipboard program out there (i.e Google) that lets you store things on it permanently. Then you could just paste it (Ctrl & v) whenever you wanted it.

No, I was looking to change the pipe key ( one under esc ) to my email address. When it's pressed my full email address appears at the cursor point.

It would be really handy you got to admit no matter how lazy ;-)

Copying it from another location is more work than typing it

BIG EDIT - This doesn't work

Its a while since I used it and it was to create a uk dvorak keyboard but I think it can do what you're looking to do and it's free. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823010

Edit- As someone who uses the pipe key and looking at that software again could I suggest maybe Alt Gr + M might be a safer combination in case you ever do need to use the humble | You can also open the Irish layout to save you typing it all it in open existing keyboard.

Form plug'n'play to websites like ninite. I actually think I might borrow the OPs idea. Yes there's permanent clipboards out there but this seems cleaner (if you dont have to tamper with the registry)

Wont play nice with W7

Does not recognise newer .net framework.

Tried XP compatibility mode but no luck, any ideas?

check out auto scripting. its a basic like language used to automate windows processes and applications.
