iPhone 4 Meteor

Hi I'm sure this has been asked quite a few times but I've seen different answers and would rather just ask myself...

So somebody on adverts wants to swap his iPhone 4 for my Desire Z. I'm thinking about it and I'm just wondering... will I be able to get a prepaid Meteor MicroSIM and use it when my current tariff? I'm using the free texts to any network and I occasionally use data. I've read that they only do data microSIM's for the iPad and bill-pay microSIM's? Is that true of false?

One of my friends is on meteor, he just called into a meteor store and got a micro sim equivalent of his existing sim. Was free and no changes made to his account. Just make sure they copy your sim numbers if you don't have them already in outlook

Oh alright. Might do that tomorrow then. Will probably be looking to trade the iPhone for a Nexus S anyway.

You can sync Google contacts to iOS can't you?

Tried that before, but didn't give it enough time. I had them all in outlook and sync daily so just stuck with that. The google sync did bring them up, but it wasn't as updated as the pc. Laziness on my part:pac:

Going to give iPhone a shot though. Atleast when people ask if my phone is an iPhone (A Desire Z? ) now I can actually say yes.

It would also be laziness trying to convert all my contacts over from Google to Outlook.

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm on Meteor.
Micro sims aren't a problem to get. You can just walk into a shop and get one.

As for your tariff, I switched from PAYG to Smart Billpay Lite (or something like that!) last week. It's a rolling 30 day contract, and it's supposed to be €30 per month. But when you apply online, you get it for €25 per month*.
For that €25 per month, you get Free Meteor to Meteor calls and texts (or free any network texts), 200 and network calls, 200 any network minutes, and 1gb data allowance. I find it great value.
If you don't think you'll have enough in the 200 texts, you can always use one of the webtext apps (like Eirtext), that'll allow you to use your webtext allowance through your phone. All it'll cost you is a fraction of your 1gb allowance every time.

* - To clarify, this is for people switching to Meteor from another operator. If you're already on Meteor and want to switch to the Smart Lite thing, you go through the steps on the website, but at the end it give you a reference code. You then being the reference code into your local shop, and they can sign you up for the €25 per month deal.

I'd still rather stay PAYG because I've heard things about meteor over charging cards etc. And atleast with PAYG they can't touch anything but credit. So can I still be PAYG yeah? What about Carphone Warehouse? Do they stock meteor micro SIM's?

I was going to do that myself but don't have another micro sim to go by and don't want to feck up my SIM (not that it has important info on it).

Do you know if you can get microSIMs in Carphone Warehouse?

all i did was cut it down to the metal (or whatever u call it) part. i didnt intend on using it forever it was just a trial experiment but yet at least 6 months later its still in there :rolleyes: the first time i put it in though it was backwards i just put it in the other wat and.......wallahhh!!:D

try them i know they usent have them when i first went looking and even with meteor it was tough enuff to find one but lately im sure u can pick them up there no problem
