    was thinking of doing this test.not too sure apart from bvd what other diseases it picks up.is it expensive and how do i go about it.thanks in advance

    AFAIK the ear notch is for bvd only, and it detects pi animals only, so you'd use it on the heifers born this year for starters. It's very easy, a bit like tagging calves. You'd also need to do some sort of test on the bulk tank and/or the cows to see if they have the virus, and depending on the result from the ear notch test, you might need to do further testing. Google enfer diagnostics, their website has the info.

    i wonder when blood testing annual tb test could i gt all these diseases tsted at once.would be vry handy:)

    That depends on how patient your vet is :D. Blood tests are usually pooled to cut the cost. Best thing first is probably to get the bulk tank sampled a few times this year, which will indicate if the herd has been exposed to bvd, and go from there.

    There's also that leaflet on bvd put out by Animal Health Ireland.
