Have you got any particular breeding line of limousin in mind? I sold a bull out of Millbrook Tanko a few weeks back. Had lots of interest in him - he had good scores and a suckler Beef value of EUR148. Ordinary Limousin bulls are making 1500 to 1800. If you're looking for a quality bull with good breeding scores, you can expect to pay in the region of EUR2500 to EUR3k.

Im looking at two bulls at the moment one is out of Millbrook Tanko and the other is out of Vison, both are in the 2k bracket.. easy calving and a docile bull is very important for me

I'd like to see the Dam if I could if I was buying a bull.
Buying a €10 straw is the handy bit!
It's not the be all and end all but I'd like to view her when I'm there looking at the bull.

There is a bull sale on in Ballina Mart 9th of April. There will be a good selection of LM bulls there. I will be going myself with one.

Yea, that's the advantage of buying in a private sale. The guy that bought my bull spent a couple of hours looking around our farm. He wanted to see the cow but he also wanted to see what sort of cattle that we had and the systems that we had in operation. Now you could say that he was a nosey fecker, but he did buy my bull with minimum haggle. It was a pleasant way to sell a bull with minimum hassle, no stress on the bull and no stress on me.

By having a casual ramble around your set up, a buyer should be able to guage the feeding regime and the general quality of your stock.
You must have made the right impression!
