Astra fuse problem

Hi all just wondering if anyone can help.

My girlfriend has a 2007 Opel Astra, the problem is that it keeps blowing the cig lighter fuse. Some facts that need to go with it.

There is an after Market alam fitted the car and when the fuse goes it stops working too so it hooked up some how.

It only seems to blow after using an iPod fm transmitter plugged in to the lighter port.

I plan on trying the transmitter in my car the weekend to see does it do the same to mine and I can rule it out.

Just wonder if anyone has an idea in the mean time before I get to test the transmitter.

    Cheers for any help

Try another device in the cig socket or even the cig lighter itself. Then Test the transmitter in another motor and come back to us. A matter of elimination. Also is the correct rated fuse being used.

    Thanks for the reply,

Yeh I've replaced it once before as the the manual instructions.

I only get to have a look at the car at the weekends so I'll start he elimination process on fri evening,
Like I said it was just to see what people think of hand I know it's hard without facts of what's happening. Think it could be too much on the fuse as it's the alarm, and then the transmitter pulling power aswell.
Any way I'll get back when I use the transmitter in my car

    Thanks
