Can I just ask boards members, mods and everyone, that if you are posting images of your cars that you block number plates in future.

My mother had a nasty visit this morning, I have had nasty phone calls at work and the Gardaí have had to get involved due to threats of abusive behaviour.

To the person who is on here that is involved. If you wish to contact me in future do it through your solicitor or boards.

Boards is a friendly place and if anyone has a problem they should contact admin immediately. Thanks Mods and Darragh for all your help and hopefully this is the end of the matter

Without going into details, is there any more information you can give on this?

Were the reg plates used to acquire your/your mother's address or was the reg plate used in some other way?
How can they get your work phone number from your reg and why would someone randomly start paying 'nasty' visits or making 'nasty' calls after finding out your reg?

I'm in no way doubting what you're saying, far from it, I just can't understand it.

Can you be more specific, why did the person contact your mother - were they upset at something you said in a boards post or were they making an offer to buy your car and got aggressive when you refused the offer?

More details please, I drive my car around Dublin all the time and park it in public car parks so don't see any reason why I wouldn't post a picture of it on a forum with the reg. plate visible.

If you see a post you have a problem with, REPORT IT to the moderators of the forum.

You can do so using this icon which you'll see when logged in, or you can contact us with the link at hello@boards.ie

The moderators will evaluate each post to see if it should be removed.

We will not remove posts that are true just because they are inconvenient to a business.

We get calls at Boards.ie HQ from certain individuals threatening our staff with violence if posts aren't removed. That's not on. These people are supposed to be "business people", not thugs.

Any such calls are reported to the Gardaí.
