This is going to be the most obscure thread/post to ever grace the cycling pages of boards.ie

If anyone is driving over, would they fancy collecting, wait for it, 6 young racing pigeons up for me, well, for my father? You will be paid handsomely I might add!!

Oh, and to keep it on track with the forum, I think, and hope Boonen will win!!

"Going over to Belgium to pick up 6 racy birds"

    ...I nearly would.

Which team are they with. I'll keep an eye out for them.:D

Seriously though, why not just release them and if they are any good they will fly home themselves.

Ah, do I have to give you a quick education

Birds fly home from a location you bring them to, not the other way round, besides, these birds aren't even flying yet, they're only a few weeks old

They have a full veterinary clearance cert, probably cleaner than you or I!!!!

And the team they're with? Nobody would catch these fellas, not even cancellara with his motor bike, they can average over 60mph for up to 8 hours of flying!!!

Thanks. 60Mph Thats fast. Where can I buy handlebar brackets for them.

They only read Dutch so they get confused by our direction signs...

No, I think they have natures equivalent of a GPS system but like my Garmin nuvi it doesn't always work properly.

They're going to be prisoners, that's what pigeon men do, they have a dedicated section for birds that just breed birds, that's how you have young birds every season, because your breeding birds breed them, these breeding birds are generally bought for a few bob, and are old when you get them, so they'll never get out to fly, they just ride and sit in an aviary all day

    No takers then lads?

The peregrine really is the racing pigeons biggest hurdle, you'd be shocked at the level of damage they can do, yet the little pigeon will make his way home, I'm notkidding when I'd say I've seen my dads pigeons with cuts across their chests that you or I would require 10 stitches for, yet these little soldiers are up racing again within weeks!!!

Like cyclists of the sky, skinny as anything, but hard as nails
