This is going to be my second brew(1st brew upstairs in bottles since sunday night).
I bought this kit assuming it would be complete but it theres a note in it saying 'in addition to 1.5kg light malt extract, the Sparkling Ale recipe requires 500g Light Dry Malt & 300g dextrose for optimum results. Theres 2 cans with the kit.
    My questions are :
    1. whats in the cans with the kit, 1 is malt extract but what is the other?
    2. what is light dry malt. is it spray malt light?
    3. Is all this stuff added with the two cans to the boiling water in the fermentor bucket?
    4. The kit calls for the yeast to be added at 21~27deg and to be implies that fermentation should occur at these temps. everything else that i read suggest 18~21deg. Advice please?

    Thanks

    L

The second kit i made was the coopers heritage lager. The can of extract was all that came with the kit so i added 1kg of that brew enhancer stuff to the mix and my starting gravity and final gravity hit the numbers they were supposed to. By the sound of what you have i would think that you add the 300g and 500g of fermentables to the 2 litres of boiling water.

With regard to temperatures you should pitch at the temperature you intend to ferment at. Beernut says to ignore the instructions and ferment around 18~21°C so you should be pitching at this temp. That's around what your average upstairs bedroom would be around this time of year so no trouble there

Dont think I read this clearly. Its a lager kit and it appears that the instructions are saying I can turn it into a 'Sparkling Ale' recipe by adding 500g light dry malt and 300g dextrose. reckon I'll just go with the kit as is cos I'd prefer it to be like a lager. Can anyone who understands ingredients confirm that the addition of those ingredients would make it more like an ale?
What does the brew enhancer do? because I'd like to get the best possible results

    Thanks
