    Hi,
Recently got a new Laptop with work, and some of the old programs i had are no longer on it.When i try download them i get an error warning saying i dont have the user access rights.

I assume my IT dept has restricted downloads on my user account, must be admin user only?

    Any way around this?
    thanks.

When they gave you the new laptop they probably only gave you limited rights.
This makes sense from their point of view as it restrict the "damage" the employees can cause by putting non-approved software on the company computer.
If you have valid reasons to install the programs you should ask them to do it for you.

A way around it is to install a second OS (Dual boot) that you can use for your stuff. I haven't done this myself on a restricted Win7 so not sure if it's possible in your case.
    Or maybe something like VMware.
