Bought an acer 3690 from adverts yesterday for a colleague. Just something cheap for internet. Laptop was fully charged on pickup and worked fine until battery died. Plugged in the charger that came with the unit. Not ACER original and not the exact same V / A output althought the connection to the power jack seems the correct size. The acer requires 19v / 3.42A. The supplied charger results in a flashing yellow light on the front of the unit but nothing happens. I'm guessing that a correct charger might fix the problem ? The seller has gone to ground ( which has me a bit concerned, hence the post )

What voltage, amperage is the charger?

If it's the same (only then ok to use), sometimes removing the battery sorts the flashing light.
I know of a few Toshiba's that have that problem.
