Shaving oddness and possible ingrown hairs...

Just an odd one that's occured over the last couple of weeks.

I can be a pretty lazy shaver. I use a wet electric which gives me a good close shave, but I only really use it once a week, twice at most. Any more than that and I look like an extra from B horror movie.

If the growth is longer than 2 or 3mm (usually is after 4/5 days) I use the beard trimmer to bring it right down to stubble and then shave it baby's-arse smooth.

I get the odd ingrown hair like everyone else, I poke at them and dig them out. But recently I've had a new phenomenon. A small sore bump would start, which feels like a spot coming on. Prod and poke, no ingrown hair. Get right in behind it, give it a good squeeze and out pops a hair. Not like the tip of a hair - a 4/5mm long, thick, dead straight hair, completely pops out onto my finger.
It's kind of like the follicle has died, just leaving behind the root of the hair, under my skin but unattached, hence why it pops out.

Haven't seen anything like this, ever, but I've gotten 3 or 4 of them over the last few weeks. Anyone else?
