    hi,

I dont know if I'm allowed to link to my carzone add, but I just put it up yesterday, and am wondering if its priced well and do people think I can expect to sell it in the next 3-4 weeks?

I can post a link if allowed:
it an e60 bmw 520i auto, full leather,66k miles, fsh and in absolute showroom condition inside and out.

    looking for 9,250..

any advice to help sell welcome:)

if you look theres a thread on this forum about how carzone really doesnt work as well as it used. there are much better sites with far more traffic such as donedeal.

I would consider that well priced as long as it has a new(ish) NCT and maybe some tax, timing belt etc. done and nothing is on the way out, is a good colour and is in reasonable condition.

I imagine one could be got from a dealer for less, also do you want €9250 for it or is that your asking price? Hard to shift any yoke if dealers are asking less.

    +1

There are cars on carzone.ie with similar miles for over a grand less.

I did notice a couple priced a bit less, but they usually have no leather, or higher miles etc...plus I am very confident no others match the condition of mine...a main dealer told me over the weekend that he couldn't believe how well it had been kept and complemented me on it...it really is like new.

Yep has over a years nct left, 3 months taxed ,fully serviced up to date..doesn't need timing belt, has a chain.

Yes, but those cars will sell for more than a grand less. And those extras are desireable yes, but on a 7 year old car a lot of people wont pay that much for them.

Were you looking to buy something off him? That sounds like typical salesman patter to build up a nice relationship with the customer :) There's a 2004 520i on carzone with 66K asking €9250 that doesn't have a particularly amazing spec, is that your one?

Anyway, it could possibly take 2 to 3 months to sell, if you want a quick sale you'll have to drop the price to make it attractive to a wheeler dealer to buy and sell on.

Dont agree there, on a car like a 5 series BMW , very few will settle for cloth seats...

People aren't as picky when it comes to a car worth a small fraction of it's original price. There was also plenty of people that settled for cloth seats then the E60 was new, so by the law of averages there's still going to be a few like minded indiviuals around on the used market too.

Only a small percentage would be prepared to pay a premium of (in this case) about a grand for the luxury of having leather on a 7 year old 5er.

This isnot the easiest car to sellin the current climate. You need the right customer who is not relying on a bank to finance him. Banks willnot finance cars over five years old. At the moment its a buyers market and if you are offered anything over eight grand take itasyou will find cash speaks volumes when you are buying or upgrading your car.
