O'Sullivan in line for Edinburgh job

    Tuesday, 29 March 2011 11:53
It has been reported that Eddie O'Sullivan is favourite to become the new Edinburgh coach.

O'Sullivan will lead the USA into this years World Cup, but his contract with them expires after the tournament.

Alan Gaffney, who is part of the Irish management team and the departing Munster forwards coach Laurie Fisher. are also being linked with a move to the Scottish side.

Probably just idle speculation at the moment but if it were true it'd prob be a very good move for Edinburgh.

He's a very good coach, his Ireland tenure got a bit stale but a team like Edinburgh would probably do well under him. Best of luck to him, I'd like to see him coaching in a club scenario.

He definetely has the backs coaching skills to compliment their game plan. Good luck to him.

    They can have Gaffney.

Eddie would be great for Embra, though.

best of luck to Eddie, towards the end of his tenure as irish coach i wasnt a fan but he really got our backline purring. He'd do a good job at Edinburgh..he'd probably bring in Niall O'Donovan as forwards coach also i'd guess.

Nick Scrivener has ruled himself out of taking the Edinburgh Rugby head coach job on a full-time basis.

The Australian took on the role of interim head coach following Rob Moffat's departure in January,

However, he has decided to return to his homeland at the end of this season for personal reasons.

Think he'd be great for them. They've really fallen back since Robinson left. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the step up EOS needs to get back to a top international coaching position. He's too good a coach to be looked over for long.

Hope he sticks with USA til after the RWC though. They can't afford to lose him at this juncture.

It wouldn't be the best start to step in at the end of October not long before the HC kicks off. Edinburgh will surely want someone in from July.

Too bad Nathan Hines isn't still playing there.
