Ford Focus Washer Jets

    Hi,
I'm currently driving the mrs 08 Ford Focus and the washer jets don't work very well. The water jet seems very weak and doesn't travel very far. I've tried changing the spray angle and i've put a pin in the jet to make sure it's not blocked but it didn't help.
The jet on the rear is very strong so I'm guessing it's not the pump.
Do I need to replace the jets or is there likely to be something else wrong?

Anyone had this problem? Please share any wisdom.

Dunno if it applies to the 08 focus, but you could have a problem where the washer pipes are leaking water onto your engine and potentially causing you more serious hassle down the line. There's a few guys here that are familiar with that issue.

Monkey spunk build up at the pump filter gauze is the most probable cause. A dirty job to do.

Its actually a white sticky goo that blocks them up, thats what we call it in the garage.

I should have put some smileys in my post :D - I just keep picturing a mechanic making the "bad news" face at a customer and telling they have a monkey spunk problem:D tis probably what I'd call it too if I was dealing with it!

Try disconnecting hose for the front jets from the jets under the bonnet, you may have to open the bonnet lining for this.
Then see if you get good pressure at the hose ends, this means jets are blocked.
To sort that go to a garage and ask them to use the air hose to unblock jets (while they're still disconnected). Use airhose from above to push the crap back out. Some jets will have small filters that may need to be removed.
