So Libertarians are in favour of small government by principle which could extend to the abolition of the Seanad. But having read numerous Libertarian writings, none of them would consider getting rid of their second houses in government.

Can those more rehearsed give a definitive explanation?

Small government does not necessarily mean small numbers of people or houses governing, but rather means fewer ways that the government interferes in a person's life.

I am not proposing it. And I'm not opposing a view in a demeaning manner. I just recall a similar debate on CFL Forums. So you don't have to say "By this logic" and hurt my feelings...:p

However if said power falls into the hands of too few private individuals, they don't have a problem with it ?

One should distinguish between economic libertarians ( let the market rule everything) and social ones ( government that governs least governs best). One may be for less bureaucrats and less nanny state and pro personal freedom but also for a military and a health system paid for by the taxpayer. And one might also be pro military but pro gun control. or pro personal freedom and anti abortion on demand.
