    Hello All,

I am currently employed withing the financial services sector on a rolling one year contract. My current year is ending at the end of the month and I was approached by my boss with a new contract but with less earning potential and benefits. To be honest, the contract has no benefits and I am working for nothing.

At the time, I was kinda of put under pressure to sign it (Boss handed it to me but then stood over me literally till I signed it) No excuse as I should have taken my time but as I had nothing else on the cards I just signed it.

I have taken a long hard think over the weekend about the job and company and don't think I want to spend another year there. It has been a difficult relationship with the staff at the best of times and I have never really felt at home in the role.

I am in no rush to look for something new ( savings built up) and I am thinking of moving to London anyhow as I have a number of interviews there next month.

My new contract commences on the 1st April which is this Friday so I was wondering can I tell the mangement I have decided it is not in my interest to commence with the new contract? Also would I have to provide a notice period?

Anyone who has had a similar situation or has experience in the area, your input would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    LackaTalent
