I will shortly have to spend sometime working in Leixlip area (Celbridge road) I will be commuting from Dun Laoire for about 2 -3 weeks. i am currently doing 20km each way on my commute across town so distance/fitness should not be a problem.
The easiest route appears to be into town, up the quays and straight out the N4. Is there a cycle route across the M50 at the junction after Palmerstown. I think i noticed one inbound (from lucan direction) but not sure about outbound. Anyone doing Lucan/leixlip into and out of town have any advice on my best route.

Looking at your route you might be better turning at the canal and going straight into Inchicore rather than going into town.. still about a 60km round journey I reckon

Google maps brings me through kilmaninham, ballyfermot, cherry orchard, coldcut road, lucan which looks ok and is probably the shortest. I just feel on the dual carriageway that i would be able to move quicker with no lighs, roundabouts ect. my main worry would be getting across the m50 junction outbound..

Perfect. I was not sure where excactly it was. I did not realise you had to go through Palmerstown Village. I will try it the 1st day anyway..
