nicest best vulue (cheap) hotel closest to dublin zoo

any good packages for hotel very close to dublin zoo. like walking distance maybe? havent been in years so im sure its all changed?

Depends what you call cheap, and for that matter, what you call nice. The Ashling Hotel is right across the river from heuston, its a 4 star these days! http://www.ashlinghotel.ie/ Too expensive? Not nice enough? It is a short stroll from the zoo.

I wouldn't recommend the Ashling at all. Heard of too many things going missing from there.

My family always stay in the ashling when they're up visiting and they love it, have never heard any complaints from them, and the rooms (in the new part) are lovely....they said the bar food is good too but haven't tried it myself.

There is a Travelodge at Castleknock- http://www.travelodge.ie/phoenix-park-hotel Its really close to the Park and probably the cheapest you'll get- but it would be basic and out of the city centre a bit.
