What do do with an older car?

Hi. I'm looking to move on a 97 Mazda 626. I can see on Donedeal that people are looking for around €700 for this type of car (I guess they settle for €500...). It's NCT'd to Sept 2012 but it needs a new clutch :(

What do you think I can do with this - would it be worth trying to sell? Can someone buying a new car use it to get an extra €1250 off through scrappage??

    Thanks :)

Someone scrapping has to own the car 18 months.
Your car is pretty much worthless. Scrap value.

The car would not be of any immediate use to anybody availing of the scrappage scheme. It must have been insured for use on the road in the name of the registered owner or in the name of the spouse of the registered owner for at least 12 months in the 18 months immediately prior to the date of scrappage.

stick it up on done deal if you want rid of it. List the problems and someone will take it. Better getting a few hundred than nothing!

Yeah stick it on donedeal and say clutch needed, might get 400 for it

just wondering can you bring old vans/cars to metal scrap yards and what sort of money would you be looking to get? or do you have to break it down yourself? have a 01 fiat scudo that's taking up room in my shed...
