wordpress is very good, i found carbonpress and devient art way to generic and dull for my likig, wordpress is fully customisable

Free doesnt always mean best. For under €100 quid, you can buy your own domain, hosting and a cool wordpress template and have a unique(ish) site.

The more time you are willing to spend messing with it, the more unique you can make it.

    http://www.richie.ie is mine. It's a wordpress site

A 2nd for wordpress. If it is to be a genuine blog rather than just a photogallery which you update monthly it needs to both look great and be really easy to update. Wordpress achieves that and there is a funky lightroom plug in which allows you to publish straight from lightroom
